“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”
—Steve Jobs
We all heard the news this week that Steve Jobs is stepping down as CEO of Apple. What I’ve noticed about leaders like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates is that professionals have definite opinions about them – and often not very nice.
I don’t know A LOT about Steve Jobs but I do know he said it best when he said that if you don’t love what you do – don’t give up. Just don’t! Life is too short. This is what I have dedicated my life and profession too – making sure people never give up on their ideal career and life. I love it when people are “ready”!
And what I love about Steve Jobs is that he is totally and uniquely himself. Quite frankly, if you’re not pissing some people off from time-to-time, you’re probably not taking many risks. Judge him however you like. I choose to admire his successes… truly amazing.
And, yes, I am writing this to you from my mac book with my iPhone next to me, getting ready to update my iTunes and iPod (while dreaming of an iPad). I hope Mr. Jobs had passionate people who loved their career on his team. This is what leads to products and services that people love and buy again and again.
If you’re feeling inspired by Steve’s vision to great careers, join me for my teleseminar on Tuesday, September 13th: 3 Secret Ingredients to the Total Career Fulfillment Formula (claim your seat here – it’s my no cost gift).
Please pay it forward and share with your friends. And, please – leave your comments on Steve Jobs here on the blog too!
