As many of you know, I take a moment each month to (re)write and recharge my goals, intentions, and dreams on the new moon. Astrologers say the new moon is said to be a powerful day for new beginnings and therefore a good day to write down what you want!Since I help many of you with your own career goals and dreams, I encourage you to take this day to get clear about what you want, what you’re working towards, and what your dreams are – - – in career and other areas of your life! Whether you ‘believe’ in the new moon or not, it’s just a good idea to do this once per month anyways.
So how does it all work? Each month, the new moon is emphasized by a different astrological sign. This month’s new moon is Monday, August 9th at 7:09pm PT / 9:09pm CT / 11:09pm ET and it is ruled by LEO…
If you want more details about new moon intentions, I get this information from a book called ‘New Moon Astrology’ written by Jan Spiller.
Here is the scoop on new moons:
It is very powerful to set intentions within 8 hours of the new moon (after the new moon occurs). Within 48 hours after the new moon is still powerful.
- Write up to 10 intentions (any more than that and the energy gets kind of displaced).
- It is best to hand write them (vs type)
- Each month, the new moon is ruled by a different astrological sign which rules certain aspects of life. Writing intentions in these areas is very powerful but you can write your intentions in ANY area of your life.
- Write your intentions in the positive… In other words, state what you want (don’t say what you don’t want or may just get that!).
- Make sure the intention/wish resonates with you. Some people write wishes like, “I want to create…” and some people right something more in the present like, “I easily create…”
Leo is ruled by:
- Heart connections, including: romance, children, dating, intense love encounters, giving and seeking approval
- Creativity, including: enthusiasm, creative projects, artistic expression, total subjective involvement, self-actualization, passion
- Giving Love, including: loyalty, generosity, bringing joy, encouragement, kindness
- Pleasure and Celebration, including: fun, play, games, parties, vacations, recreational sports, taking risks for excitement
- Dignity, including: recognition, being center stage, self-confidence, powerful individual expression, radiance, benevolence
- Determination, including: leadership, concentrated focus, follow through, strength of purpose, resoluteness, stamina
- Arrogance, including: pride, being overly dramatic, self-centerdness, extravagance, bossiness
- In matters of restoring health, Leo rules: back & spine, exhaustion/heat exhaustion, heart, inflammations
My wish for you is that all of your new moon wishes come true. Happy Wishing!
